Cables provide power, and transmit data, to devices such as |modems|, |printers|, |monitors|, |MIDI systems|, etc. They are often multiple-wire configurations, so that a given cable may transmit and receive a variety of data simultaneously. Connectors on the ends of the cables, separate the wires as "pins" for connecting to peripherals or other cables.
